Keith Lindsay

Sound Designer

A fear of being lost

This improvised sound piece consists of a collection of field recordings and samples I had gathered over the last 4 years working with film sound. The sound recordings drift through a dream like state of mind, bringing the listener back into the deeper subconscious where memories are stored as sonic imprints. The sound piece was improvised by using a simple program to randomly select an audio file in my project folder and then I would process the audio live on stage. This introduced a level of chance which is suggestive of the subconscious process.

I used a brilliant piece of software called Gleetch Lab 3 which is now a main player in my sonic arsenal. It was written in Max MSP by Giorgio Sancristoforo but is a standalone platform. http://www.gleetchplug.com
